Whilst anger is a natural emotion that has evolved to help us survive as a species, it can also be frightening and damaging, both to the angry person themselves and to those on the receiving end. News: Not forgetting fathers…

Having a disabled child in the family can bring an extra layer of stress, anxiety, financial worries and relationship problems on top of the 'usual' stresses that occur whenever a child is born. Whilst mothers of disabled children certainly don't have it easy, women in general are better at finding support than men are. Marple Cross is setting up a support group for fathers of disabled children to provide a safe space for them to share their expeiences with others.

A recent workshop at Marple Cross on the links between our early emotional lives and later issues with food and eating has generated a lot of interest. From secret eaters to ice-cream addicts, some of the experiences shared were very revealing and stimulated a great deal of debate.
