About Marple Cross

Marple Cross is Portsmouth’s centre for private counselling and therapy.

Our registered therapists are fully-qualified and experienced practitioners, who provide a confidential, ethical and professional service to the public.

Our peaceful offices are located close to Southsea Common, with facilities for disabled visitors and nearby parking.

Therapy Services for the Public.

Therapy services…We offer a wide range of counselling,  psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, complimentary therapy and other therapies to individuals, couples, families and children.

There’s no need to be referred by your GP – all our therapists are professionally qualified to help you make sensible choices in therapy. You can contact us for more information … or make contact with a therapist directly via our Therapist Directory.

We offer a free online therapy-finding service, to help you begin your search for the right therapist (click to begin Find a Therapist).

We also host weekly meditation groups and occasional personal development workshops on reducing stress, building self-confidence and understanding emotions.

Therapy Services for Professional Therapists.

Therapist services…Marple Cross provides consulting rooms for use on an ad hoc or block booking basis to qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. Therapists may rent the rooms without registering with the Centre, but registration offers ongoing benefits – please visit our Services for Therapists page for further information.

We also run regular Continuing Professional Development workshops and events. Please visit our News and Events pages for more information.

Access for Disabled People.

The Centre is on the ground-floor of Albemarle House. There are two steps down into Reception and an adjacent wheelchair ramp. All of the consulting rooms are wheelchair-accessible. There is a spacious DDA-compliant adapted toilet with emergency alarm.

A parking space for Blue Badge holders on the hard standing adjacent to the Centre can be requested in advance and we will do our best to provide this, but it may not always be available. The nearest public car park is approximately 2 minutes’ walk away on the side of Southsea Common. Blue Badge holders can also park on the double yellow lines on Osborne Road just outside the Centre.
